Griffin's Greenhouses is a family business celebrating over 30 years of success. Ann and Jack Griffin began a small road-side plant stand in 1976 and the business has grown to encompass three large greenhouses, an extensive outdoor sales area, a renovated barn housing interesting garden decor and an award-winning display garden surrounding the natural irrigation pond. Victoria and Kyle, Ann and Jack's children, are General Manager and Greenhouse Manager respectively. It is also not unusual to see Victoria and Kyle's children on site helping their parents and grandparents - Griffin's is truly a family business!
The focus at Griffin's Greenhouses is on providing quality plants and exceptional customer service. In the greenhouses they grow approximately 90% of the plants they sell, therefore the quality of the plant material can be controlled and monitored at all times. Additional plants come from reputable and, whenever possible, local sources. Ann, Jack, Victoria, Kyle and their staff specialize in annuals, perennials and container gardens (patio pots, hanging baskets and window boxes). They make a concerted effort each year to attend trial gardens and trade shows to become better informed and be one of the area leaders in new trends and new plant varieties.
Open March to December, Victoria and her staff utilize the changing seasons as motivation to host a number of workshops and seminars. At all times a list of creative hands-on workshops is available on their website.
A trip to Griffin's Greenhouses is not complete without wandering through the display garden. This beautiful garden surrounds a natural pond and is a gorgeous respite from a busy day, for a quiet conversation with a friend or a location for your painter's easel. On a summer Saturday afternoon, there will usually be a wedding party by the rambling waterfall being photographed. Bus tours are welcome and complimentary tours of the garden can be arranged.
